Call on international community to denounce and not to recognize the election farce in Honduras
The undersigned, both social, political and supportive organizations and individual persons, declare:
1. The coup in Honduras, with the accomplice participation of the USA, and materialized by Michelleti and his de facto regime, carries already 21 murdered people, there are 4.234 formal complaints for violation of fundamental freedoms, 7 assassination attempts, 95 death threats, 133 torture cases, 394 people with damages and 211 injured persons because of repression, 1.987 illegal detentions, 2 kidnapping attempts and 114 political prisoners accused of sedition. And this numbers keep on increasing everyday.
2. The coup makers keep in power showing their deep disdain for democracy and their disregard about the sovereign right of the people through vote.
Time has shown that both USA government maneuvers and the Organization of American States (OAS), didn’t mean to defend democracy but only to postpone, hinder and finally to support those who are now planning the electoral farce.
3. After October 30th, the USA government has considered the opportunity of maneuver and make possible the agreement between the government presided by Manuel Zelaya Rosales and the coup makers -the so called Tegucigalpa/San José Agreement- which would lead to legitimate the elections on November 29th, and would make it difficult for the popular movement to arrive to that date with winning possibilities.
The coup makers have broken the agreement. The constitutional president still remains surrounded in Brazil's embassy, the repression goes on. With a gesture of unlimited cynicism, the USA government has hurried up to declare that they will recognize the elections. President Manuel Zelaya Rosales has denounced the total impunity with which the elections will take place. The Frente Nacional de Resistencia and other democratic forces have announced as well that they will not get to the ballot boxes and that they will boycott the election farce.
4. Most of mass media, at the service of oligarchy, imperialism and transnational companies, consider the crisis already resolved and want to legitimate the elections. In spite of this coordinated effort to make the crisis appear to be settled, Honduran People's fight continues and reiterates its claims:
· Unconditional restitution of President Manuel Zelaya Rosales to the presidency of the Republic of Honduras, restoring the situation that existed before June 28th 2009.
· Non-recognition of electoral process on November 29th 2009.
· After the breach of constitutional order by the oligarchic political caste, now more than ever: Constituent Assembly call.
· Judgment and punishment to coup makers and their accomplices.
We joint these legitimate requests of honduran people and we ask to International institutions and governments, not send any commission or mission of international observers, to maintain political, economical and financial pressure to overthrow the military dictatorship imposed by oligarchy and imperialism, as well as not to recognize neither the illegitimate elections of November 29 nor the spurious authorities who seek to pass as representatives elected by the people.
